One Recipe, Four Textures. Every Formula Adapts to Your Curls

Waves and coils don't want the same cream. Each recipe comes with texture variants: lighter and more fluid for waves, richer and more buttery for coils, so you mix the version your hair actually asks for.

Questions, answered

Everything You Want to Know Before You Mix

The questions curly girls ask us most, from ingredients to shelf life. Still unsure? Write to us, we answer every email.

01Is this a physical product or a digital download?
It's 100% digital. Right after checkout you receive an email with your download links: PDF files you can open on your phone, tablet or computer, or print. Nothing is shipped, and there's no waiting.
02Where do I find the ingredients?
Most recipes use ingredients from a regular grocery store or pharmacy: shea butter, coconut and olive oil, aloe, flaxseed, honey, apple cider vinegar. A few call for items you can order online once and reuse for months, like a natural gel base. Every recipe also lists swaps in case something isn't available where you live.
03I've never made anything before. Will I manage?
Yes. The recipes are written for complete beginners: exact quantities, numbered steps, timing, and what to do if the texture comes out too thick or too runny. Most take 10 to 20 minutes, and the Curly Hair Method Guide tells you which ones to start with.
04Do I need special equipment?
A bowl, a whisk or hand mixer, a kitchen scale or measuring spoons, and clean jars or bottles. A few recipes use a double boiler, which is just a bowl over a pot of simmering water. Nothing you need to buy specifically.
05Will the recipes work for my curl type?
Every recipe comes with a texture guide and three variants: light for waves (2A to 2C), balanced for curls (3A to 3C), rich for coils (4A to 4C). If you have more than one pattern, the guide shows you how to combine them. Not sure what your type is? The bonus guide helps you find it in a couple of minutes.
06How long do homemade products keep?
It depends on the recipe, and each one has its own storage note. Oil and butter based products keep for months at room temperature; water based ones (gels, sprays, leave-ins) are made in small batches and kept in the fridge for one to two weeks, or longer with the natural preservative options listed in the guide.
07Can I use these if I follow the Curly Girl Method?
You choose every ingredient, so you decide what goes in. The recipes are built around butters, oils, plant gels and simple emulsifiers, and each one lists exactly what it contains, so it's easy to keep to whatever routine you follow, CGM included.
08What if I have a problem with my download?
Write to us at thebeautycraftsdiy@gmail.com with your order number and we'll send you a fresh link, usually within a few hours. The files are yours to keep, so you can download them again whenever you need.
